Mindful Essentials
Mindfulness is free, outrageously simple, and can be done absolutely anywhere, at all times- and to me, that = ultimate freedom and empowerment.
Now let’s chat about what mindfulness actually is- and no, it’s not just one of those spiritual buzzword trends, its the real deal, fam!
It’s all about present moment awareness: sitting back and observing what’s happening right now with curiosity and acceptance.
Mindfulness asks us to drop our judgments, attachments, and expectations (because they’re the root cause of all suffering), and approaching each situation with openness, compassion, and equinamity. It teaches us to lead with love and accept the impermanence of all aspects of life.
QUESTION: When’s the last time you did nothing? And by that I mean a time when you weren’t lost in thought and were fully present.
Practicing mindfulness allows us to recognize that we are not our thoughts and it also allows us to feel immense gratitude for the incredible things in our life. It activates and strengthens our parasympathetic nervous system, which puts us into a restorative state. When we’re able to step back and question the thoughts we’re thinking, we’re able to live our lives intentionally instead of reactively- and there’s so much power in that!
