unwinding the sacred wound
Something I reference often during breathwork sessions is the link between constriction in our breathing patterns and the "sacred wound".
The concept is summarized beautifully in the Gene Keys (GK 25). It says:

The vast majority of people I've facilitated breathwork for come to me with constricted breathing patterns that are ready to be unwound. Some are conscious of it, some aren't, but once they begin the practice of unwinding through Conscious Connected Breathing, they notice a newfound sense of freedom and coherence arise in their moment-to-moment experience.
They become aware of how the holding patterns in their breathing were creating holding patterns in their lives - because the quality of our breath determines the quality of energy flow within and around us.
Once they rewire themselves to breathe with the diaphragm - deeply and 3-dimensionally - space is naturally created for love and acceptance to flow, loosening constriction, releasing density, and ushering in beautiful shifts and healing.
The cherry on top: when we unwind our own sacred wounds, that healing ripples back through our bloodlines - like a giant gift of gratitude for our ancestors.
