Karmic Gift Guide: 2016

karmic-gift-guide-1050x1359.png

I put together a short and sweet little gift guide for ya in case you're still searching for the perfect prezzies for peeps on your list.   I'm calling this a "karmic" gift guide instead of a "holiday" gift guide - because each of these gifts / brands has some major good karma based on their biz practices - and giving / receiving their goods will improve lives in more ways than one.

I mean, helllllll YEAH, right?!

Supporting conscious businesses is muy importante because every time we spend money we're voting for the type of world that we want to live in.  Our money is either going into the hands of game-changers, makers, and people in need, or into the deep pockets of big business (who in many cases, place no importance on their business creating a positive impact on the world).

I hand selected each of these bad boys, ensuring that they contribute high vibes to the good karma bank.  Each embodies one or more of the following: made with ethically, sustainably sourced materials, donates a portion of proceeds to an awesome cause, empowers less fortunate people with possibilities and purpose, supports small biz / makers, detoxifies the body and home.  And it goes without saying, but each is also incredibly gorgeous / luxe / healthy / inspiring too.

Okay, now time to (consciously) shop!

Living Libations, Best Skin Ever Seabuckthorn

Seriously kicking myself that it took me so long to hop on the Best Skin Ever train.  It's the perfect thing for someone looking to simplify and detoxify their skincare routine - this single bottle o' magic can be used as a cleanser, gentle exfoliator, and moisturizer - and HOLY CRAP does it make your skin glow.  Living Libations takes their responsibility to their customers and the earth extremely seriously - using only organic, wildcrafted, and sustainable ingredients. They are eco-friendly to the highest degree and believe deeply in conscious business.

The Citizenry, Sauda Baskets

I have to admit, I'm obsessed with everything The Citizenry sells, but these baskets would make a perfect gift for just about anyone. Handwoven by a cooperative of twenty women, tucked away in the Rwenzori Mountains in Uganda, each basket takes weeks to complete, and they're made in limited quantities. They're created exclusively in a fair trade environment. Through The Citizenry's commitment to providing fair wages, happy working environments, and sustaining grants, their artisan partners are able to take their crafts and their businesses to new places. BOOM! How good is that?

Cuyana, Travel Case Set

I've loved this brand for a few years now - and I keep adding items from their carefully thought out collection to my life one by one.  This Travel Case Set is one of my personal favs, and I use the smaller case to store my makeup even when I'm not traveling. Cuyana's guiding principle? Fewer, better things. How's that for simplifying your life?  They promote intentional buying, offer premium quality products at accessible prices, and empower local craftsmanship from around the world. Plus, if you select "lean shipping" at checkout they'll send you a reusable bag to fill up with items that you don't need which they donate to their non-profit partner H.E.A.R.T. to support women in need.Sun Potion, AnandamideAnandamide, a.k.a. Bliss Alchemy most definitely lives up to its name.  This is a blend of organic / wildcrafted herbs, spices, and superfoods, like: Raw Cacao, Tocos, Mucuna Pruriens, Ashwagandha, Reishi Mushrooms, Astragalus, Suma, Moringa, Rose Petals, Cardamom, Turmeric, Cayenne, Cinnamon, Black Pepper, and Himalayan Sea Salt.  It can be made into a latte-like potion with water, nut milk, and coconut oil (my person fav, because it tastes / makes me feel incredible), or even added to coffee or tea.  Sun Potion works with suppliers who can meet their strict quality standards and commitment to purity.  They only source organic and/or wildcrafted products and they never use ingredients that have been chemically treated in any way.  They've got integrity in spades!

dōTERRA, Frankincense

By now, I'm sure you know that Frank is something I believe every single person should have in their self-care arsenal.  It does it ALL.  From supporting glowing skin, to boosting immunity, to promoting feelings of happiness, to crushing inflammation, to enhancing mediation, to elevating the effectiveness of other essential oils (and so much more) - Frankincense oil's got you covered.  dōTERRA's sourcing and testing methods for their oils are above and beyond.  All of their essential oils are sourced in their indigenous habitat - creating the most powerful chemistry and therapeutic properties - while also giving them the opportunity to create jobs for growers and distillers globally, and support communities that need uplifting through their non-profit, the Healing Hands Foundation. On top of that, they send each batch of oil out to be tested by multiple third parties to ensure that  every single bottle meets their stringent purity and potency standards.  (Email me for deets on where to purchase.)Soko, Kazi CuffThis cuff is small in size, but mighty in purpose. The Kazi Cuff celebrates "#WomenWhoWerk - the Boss Ladies, Supermoms, Trailblazers and Creators we love and look up to, and connects them to their counterparts in Kenya. Made for you by women like you - women who have overcome their own unique set of challenges in Kenya to make their mark. Its simple yet meaningful design features the initials of the woman who made it next to yours - representing the power we share. Your purchase does more than just give back, it gives dignified work to a Soko artisan. Through Soko we can transform the lives of artisans, increasing their income 5x and ensuring they can provide for their families. 20% of every bracelet purchased will go towards women's programming for artisans in Kenya."Energy Medicine for Women, Donna EdenI'm reading this book right now and I'm absolutely LOVING it.  It's giving me such clarity around how energy healing actually works - and it's full of super empowering information no matter how much or how little you know about holistic health.  It outlines specific energetic routines that can be done for women to achieve optimal wellness (this book is actually a follow up to her book "Energy Medicine" if you want something for the men in your life as well).  Understanding energy is such a key step in maximizing your positive impact on yourself, others, and the world at large - and this book is an incredible way to get your mind around how to actually do it.

Organic Bath Co, Drenched Body Butter

This is legit HEAVEN in a jar.  This body butter takes moisturization to the next level - it's ridiculously luxe (and non-toxic, to boot!).  My gorgeous friend Gianne founded this co. with her partner Jay - and they create each and every product with organic, Fair Trade Certified Ingredients, and a big dose of LOVE.  Good for the body? Check!  Good for the planet? Check!  Good for the soul? Check!

dōTERRA, Petal Diffuser

Because candles are so last week (paraffin candles, anyway).  Ditch the air-and-body-polluting nasties, and cleanse the air around you instead with this pretty little essential oil diffuser.  Just add water and essential oils and you'll have amazing-smelling, toxin-busting mist filling the air in seconds.  dōTERRA as a company is deeply rooted in being of service on a global scale - bringing health, happiness, wealth, and possibilities to everyone they touch with their business and products.  (Email me for deets on where to purchase.)
