Why You Need Copaiba Oil in Your Life

Hot damn. This essential oil just casually waltzed into my life and stole my heart. Ladies + gents, I'd like you to introduce you to my new bestie, Copaiba.

I'm gonna go as far to say that in addition to my homie, Frank (Frankincense, for long) - Copaiba is the other oil that every single human needs in their wellness arsenal. Seriously, its therapeutic benefits are THAT epic and wide-ranging.

You may have heard me talk before about how much I believe in the healing powers of CBD oil (derived from the cannabis plant) - and if that piqued your interest you're gonna want to pay close attention - because Copaiba actually interacts with the same cannabinoid receptor sites in your body (and is 100% legal). SO. EXCITING.

Before we hop into the major health benefits that this guy delivers, let's chat about where he comes from! Takin' it back to the roots, my friends.

Copaiba's sourced from tropical South America, and it's derived from the resin of the (you guessed it!) Copaiba tree, which can grow upwards of 100 ft. The tall, dark + handsome type (owww owww!). This magical oil has been used by Brazil natives since the 16th century in all sorts of traditional health practices - so you know it's good.

Okay, now onto the ridiculously amazing therapeutic benefits. Let's first circle back to that CBD parallel that I mentioned above. For a little background, specific chemical components are classified as cannabinoids by their ability to interact with the body's endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS focuses on maintaining homeostasis (aka balance) within the body, and regulates all sorts of different functions related to the brain, central nervous system, endocrine system, and immune system.  There are three primary types of cannabinoids that are derived from plants: THC, CBD, and BCP.  The first two, THC and CBD, come from the cannabis plant, which unfortunately presents some legal challenges (and THC also has psychoactive effects, which some peeps would rather not experience). But BCP is found in various other (legal) plants, like Copaiba, and it has the same therapeutic benefits as other cannabinoids without the psychoactive effects. Best of both worlds! Now, let's walk through a quick general overview of the systems and functions it's able to influence so you can get an idea for the different ways to use it.
